About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape company strategy through a financial lens alongside the CEO and executive team
  • Drive data-informed decision-making across Product, Engineering, GTM, People, and Operations
  • Translate complex financial data into insights guiding investment, headcount, pricing, and resource allocation
  • Own financial readouts to the board and investors
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
  • Develop financial models supporting growth initiatives, M&A evaluation, and capital allocation
  • Partner with the CEO on fundraising strategy and investor diligence
  • Monitor ARR, CAC, LTV, burn, Magic Number, and Credit Burndown
  • Manage treasury, banking relationships, and working capital optimization
  • Recruit and develop the finance and accounting team
  • Design an organizational structure that scales with company growth and complexity
  • Develop future finance leaders and foster continuous learning
  • Design and implement scalable financial systems, reporting tools, and processes
  • Drive automation and operational efficiencies across billing, revenue recognition, reporting, and planning
  • Build data governance and integrate finance systems with company-wide infrastructure
  • Establish internal controls and compliance frameworks for Series C, international expansion, and IPO readiness
  • Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and close processes
  • Ensure accurate, timely GAAP-compliant financial reporting
  • Develop enterprise risk management and governance structures
  • Manage audits and external accounting relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Significant experience in venture-backed, high-growth startups; Series A–C preferred
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing finance and accounting teams with career development pathways
  • Deep expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and growth modeling in scaling companies
  • Strong understanding of AI credits-based and recurring revenue business models and unit economics
  • Experience partnering with executive teams and presenting to boards and investors
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable financial systems, processes, and infrastructure
  • Strong accounting foundation with expertise in revenue recognition, internal controls, and financial operations
  • Highly analytical, with ability to simplify complexity, influence cross-functional teams, and communicate to non-financial audiences
  • Hands-on, low-ego leadership style and genuine interest in developing others
  • Experience leading finance through Series C or later-stage fundraising is a plus
  • Banking relationship management and treasury function experience is a plus
  • Exposure to IPO readiness, SEC reporting, or international finance operations is a plus
  • Familiarity with modern fintech solutions, data analytics platforms, and RPA/automation in finance is a plus
  • CPA and/or MBA highly preferred
