About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the monthly reporting cycle for the consolidated group
  • Perform month-end tasks and assist with preparing reporting
  • Complete monthly GL account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly consolidation of group accounts
  • Support the Financial Controller and CFO with financial analysis, reporting and ad-hoc requests
  • Assist with tax compliance and lodgements
  • Support audit and statutory accounts
  • Contribute to the review and development of finance processes and controls
  • Process invoices for payment and prepare and process payments
  • Maintain vendor records and assist with expense claims
  • Support payroll processing
  • Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Follow up outstanding debts with schools and maintain recovery records
  • Implement debt collection strategies
  • Provide general finance team support, including data entry and report preparation
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks requested by the manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance, including month-end, reconciliations and accounts payable
  • CPA or CA membership, or currently working towards it
  • A Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation and debtor management
  • Foundational understanding of tax compliance and lodgements
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working to tight month-end deadlines
  • Clear communication skills and confidence following up debts with school customers
  • Valid Employee Working With Children Check required before commencing employment
  • Satisfactory National Police Check required before commencing employment
  • Verification of unrestricted work rights in Australia required before commencing employment
  • Exposure to group consolidation, or audit and statutory accounts support, highly regarded
  • Experience in a SaaS or education environment highly regarded
