About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with project managers and key business stakeholders to elicit, define, and document detailed business and system requirements
- Translate high-level business rules and process definitions into functional specifications, data mapping requirements, and technical user stories
- Support the rollout, testing, and implementation of a standardized global process and associated systems set to launch in 2027
- Develop process maps, user stories, and workflow diagrams aligned with defined business needs
- Bridge business objectives, functional users, and technical execution teams or third-party vendors
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing, including writing test cases, tracking defects, and coordinating business-user sign-off
- Identify project risks, scope creep, and system limitations, and propose mitigation strategies
- Assist in creating training materials, standard operating procedures, and user manuals for change management and post-deployment adoption
- Work within the client's business systems group alongside client-side stakeholders and the CompassX project management team
- Collaborate with business sponsors and technical developers while working autonomously and staying aligned with the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven hands-on experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably within the healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industries
- Deep expertise in process mapping, requirements gathering, and complex system implementations
- Proficiency with requirements management, ticketing, and documentation tools, including Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, and Lucidchart
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with data mapping, system integrations, APIs, and middleware
- Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven environments such as FDA, HIPAA, or Sunshine Act is a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business objectives for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity in a matrixed enterprise environment
- Ability to onboard quickly, build cross-functional relationships, and operate independently in a fast-paced project environment
- Experienced 1099 independent contractor comfortable in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
