About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build and maintain applications and APIs in C# on .NET, including ASP.NET Core, Web API and background services
- Write testable, well-documented code and review peers' work against agreed standards
- Lead technical design for multi-component features and mentor other engineers
- Build and maintain integrations with internal and third-party systems through APIs and messaging
- Own features end to end: refine requirements, estimate, build, test, deploy and support in production
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Security and Data teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
- Implement security practices protecting sensitive financial data, including encryption, authentication and authorization
- Apply regulatory and audit requirements such as data retention and access controls
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes and fix underlying problems
- Monitor security trends and emerging technologies and recommend worthwhile adoption
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of professional software development, with C# and .NET as your primary stack
- Hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, Entity Framework or Dapper, and dependency injection
- Strong SQL Server skills, including database design, query tuning and indexing
- Experience with automated testing (xUnit, NUnit or similar)
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Ability to explain a technical trade-off to a non-technical audience and turn business rules into working software
- A track record of diagnosing and fixing hard problems in production systems, with careful attention to data accuracy
