About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare agendas and ensure appropriate dissemination of material for Board of Directors and Committee meetings
  • Take minutes during Board and Committee meetings and disseminate as appropriate
  • Provide administrative support to the Chair and Directors
  • Coordinate logistics of Board events, including Board meetings, Annual Meeting of the Members, Board of Directors election, new Board Member orientation, Strategic Planning session, and special events
  • Work closely with management team members to keep them informed of upcoming Board-related commitments and responsibilities
  • Track and assist Directors with expense submissions in accordance with policy
  • Serve as a resource and information source regarding Board policies, procedures, and operations
  • Coordinate the activities of the Governance Committee and Audit and Risk Management Committee
  • Coordinate the activities of the CMRAO Advisory Council

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completion of a University Degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution. Proven equivalent and recent related education, training and experience may be considered
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a high-level administrative support position
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with a Board of Directors and/or board appointed committees
  • Knowledge of governance structures and procedures
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature with proven problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, solutions oriented and able to plan, organize and prioritize work while handling multiple tasks and interruptions
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of stakeholders
