About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clear and accurate information regarding applicable pension plan provisions
  • Respond to participant inquiries through inbound telephone calls and some outbound calls
  • Research and address client-specific participant questions while following established procedures
  • Complete transactions related to participant inquiries with limited supervision
  • Meet established timeliness, accuracy, quality, and productivity standards
  • Document participant interactions with detailed and accurate notes in the case management system
  • Complete participant callbacks and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Follow call center metrics, procedures, and guidelines
  • Explain participant forms and provide guidance on completing them
  • Adapt to multiple clients’ requirements and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of participant and client information
  • Follow company, client, privacy, and security policies and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to listen carefully, understand participant questions, and provide clear explanations
  • Ability to navigate computer systems and learn new software, processes, and client-specific procedures
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Ability to manage multiple client requirements and processes
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure when assisting participants
  • Ability to meet established performance, quality, and productivity expectations
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Previous experience in benefits administration, pension services, customer service, call center operations, or transaction processing is helpful
  • DB pension experience
  • Experience with defined benefit pension plans is a plus
  • Knowledge of DB pension processes, terminology, or participant services can help you succeed
