About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, reducing friction and improving deployment safety
- Implement automation to reduce operational toil and improve mean time to recovery
- Design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms enabling self-service deployments, testing, and observability
- Define, monitor, and continuously improve SLIs and SLOs across distributed systems
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, and run blameless post-mortems
- Identify reliability, scalability, and performance risks and lead system-resilience initiatives
- Own the security of cloud infrastructure and the delivery pipeline
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on GCP, including GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery
- Maintain and tune Elasticsearch clusters for search and indexing workloads
- Configure and optimize Cloudflare for edge performance, security, and reliability
- Drive cloud cost efficiency without compromising performance or reliability
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams on platform needs and roadmap decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, SRE, or Senior/Staff Software Engineer in production environments
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP or equivalent cloud platforms
- Deep experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, ArgoCD, or similar)
- Hands-on experience securing cloud infrastructure: IAM, secrets management, and vulnerability management
- Solid understanding of observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting (OpenTelemetry or similar)
- Comfort owning on-call responsibilities and leading incident management in high-availability systems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego mindset
- Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Experience operating and tuning Elasticsearch clusters in production
- Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments
- Experience implementing SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls
- Eligibility to work in the EU or UK without sponsorship
