About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the investment team and provide guidance on company participations in investments and strategic partnerships
- Research tax compliance issues and interpret tax laws and rulings
- Review corporate tax returns prepared by external advisors and tax reporting processes
- Advise on tax compliance aspects of private equity business
- Support FATCA and AEOI matters and review IRS Forms W-8 and W-9
- Manage annual tax-obligation compliance processes across jurisdictions worldwide
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations affecting private equity investments
- Collaborate with investment teams on tax due diligence, tax structuring and tax-scenario analysis
- Monitor tax procedures and controls and assess international and domestic taxation changes affecting fund investments
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state and international tax obligations
- Participate in ad hoc tax projects and provide direct ad hoc support and training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law or Tax Law
- Further education in tax law would be an advantage
- Professional experience at a Big Four firm or a top-tier law firm is required
- Experience in international tax law, corporate tax, US tax and investment compliance (FATCA, AEOI)
- Knowledge of corporation tax law and private equity fund formation and investment activities across jurisdictions including Luxembourg, Ireland, Delaware and the Cayman Islands
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team
- Efficient working style
- Ability to build interpersonal relationships
- Strong client focus
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Interest in project work
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Fluent English
