About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead full-stack development across multiple concurrent AI pilots
  • Own software components and services from design through production deployment
  • Build AI/ML-enabled functionality, including user experiences and application layers surfacing model outputs
  • Integrate with LangChain, LangGraph, and similar tools
  • Modernize pilot applications onto a secure, cloud-native golden path
  • Build React/TypeScript front ends and Python/FastAPI back ends
  • Migrate legacy Streamlit pilots to modern React and VA Design System frontends
  • Build and maintain reusable CI/CD templates, containerization, and Azure deployment workflows
  • Integrate application layers with Azure AI Foundry, AI/ML services, model inference, and document-processing workflows
  • Establish automated testing, code review, supply-chain/CVE remediation, and release management practices
  • Produce system-design and automation documentation
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical direction within an Agile team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain VA T2 Public Trust clearance
  • BS degree with 10+ years of experience (or equivalent), including demonstrable technical leadership
  • Expert-level full-stack development with React/TypeScript and Python/FastAPI in production
  • Azure experience, including containerized deployment with AKS and/or Container Apps
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry, LangChain, and LangGraph
  • Experience modernizing applications to a design system and delivering to Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
  • Experience with the BrownMM DevSecOps toolchain is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and customer-facing polish
  • Ability to produce system design and automation documentation
  • 7+ years of experience with Agile lifecycles based on Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, or other frameworks
  • 7+ years of experience with automated software delivery in CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
  • 7+ years of experience with Git-based version control
  • 7+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL, and NoSQL datastores
  • 7+ years of experience automating system backup and recovery, high availability, and zero-downtime approaches
  • 7+ years of experience with federal application security practices including OWASP, zero-trust principles, and encryption at rest and in transit
  • 7+ years of experience with FISMA High security system controls and constraints
  • Production system experience with one or more of Kubernetes, Azure AI Framework, or Terraform/equivalent IaC such as Pulumi
