About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Virtually manage instructional programs for students with ELL needs
  • Consult regularly with learning coaches and students to support completion of instructional programs
  • Participate in all steps of the ILP process
  • Collaborate with teachers and district professionals to ensure ELL program compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Deliver virtual instruction using technology
  • Provide instruction for students in grades 4-12, Language Levels 1-4
  • Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a caseload of students
  • Identify and screen potential ELL students
  • Develop, write, and help implement ILPs
  • Schedule WIDA testing
  • Complete required ELL DOE state reporting tasks
  • Evaluate tests and assessments, complete progress reports, and conduct parent conferences
  • Communicate with parents and learning coaches regarding ILP goals and student needs
  • Consult with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction for students with ELL needs and potential learning issues
  • Provide direct services through web-conferencing software as needed
  • Schedule, organize, and conduct ILP-related meetings virtually
  • Help teachers and learning coaches develop and implement program modifications and strategies for ILP students
  • Manage paperwork, documentation, and procedures for the ILP process
  • Monitor students exited from LEP services throughout the monitoring period
  • Maintain accurate and current data in the school’s Education Management System
  • Assist with state testing and coordinate accommodations required by ILPs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in ELL (K-12)
  • Valid Tennessee ELL certification
  • Experience in Title III policy
  • Residency in Tennessee
  • Strong technology skills, especially with Google/Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Customer focused approach
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast paced environment
  • Team player track record
  • Willingness to travel on occasion for state testing events, potentially including occasional overnight travel
