About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide small-group (5 students) math tutoring sessions in a virtual environment
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students' specific academic needs and grade levels
- Use tutoring data to guide instruction and monitor progress
- Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and growth
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and session notes
- Communicate regularly with the Tutoring Program Lead to align on instructional goals and student progress
- Participate in training sessions and program meetings as scheduled
- Ensure that all tutoring sessions are aligned with GACA's academic and behavioral expectations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate preferred (Math 4-8 or Math 6-12)
- Georgia Clearance Certificate
- Experience teaching or tutoring K–12 math students in a virtual or in-person setting
- Strong knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence for Mathematics
- Proficient in using virtual learning platforms (Zoom, Pearson Connexus, Nearpod, etc.)
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage students in a remote learning environment
