About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and evolve standards and guidelines for REST, MCP, and A2A API design
- Support teams in designing and integrating their APIs into the platform
- Contribute to industrializing the API lifecycle and automating processes
- Participate in implementing and enhancing API design, discovery, and testing tools
- Support the emergence of new use cases related to agentic AI, including MCP, A2A, SSE, and Webhooks
- Ensure governance and oversight of a domain’s API portfolio
- Support teams in using the API platform and complying with defined standards
- Manage and oversee the API lifecycle, from design through decommissioning
- Support teams in meeting API security requirements and identify the controls to implement
- Ensure compliance with API security standards and architecture best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years of experience in API architecture and governance
- Expertise in REST standards and OpenAPI Specification (OAS) v3/v3.1
- Strong experience in API governance and API lifecycle management in large enterprises
- Practical knowledge of MCP and A2A protocols and architectures, particularly for agentic AI use cases
- Proficiency in API security topics, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, mTLS/RFC 8705, FAPI, and MCP-specific security considerations
- Experience designing REST APIs and using API design, documentation, linting, and testing tools
- Knowledge of a leading API management platform, ideally Apigee
- Fluent professional English, as the working language in an international environment
- Excellent teaching and coaching skills, with the ability to support teams in adopting standards and best practices
- Rigorous and well-organized, with a strong focus on quality and security
- Proactive and able to identify opportunities for improvement and automation
- Comfortable working in collaborative environments and communicating with a wide range of technical and business stakeholders
