About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Handle service requests from the IT department
Gradually build expertise in the Mainframe application environment
Monitor and analyze batch incidents
Develop and maintain production tools
Integrate software updates into UAT and production environments
Process requests, track, and close changes in ITSM/JUMP
Monitor and perform post-mortem analyses of production incidents
Analyze batch contention and IMS transaction alerts
Monitor and analyze recurring requests from the non-production CSA portal
Propose solutions and liaise with the IT department
Create operational procedures
Implement application changes on Mainframe systems using Endevor, LCM/Intermel/OCCAM

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant initial experience in IT production, Mainframe operations, or application integration
Experience working in demanding production environments
Proficiency in Mainframe / z/OS environments
Good knowledge of JCL and COBOL
Proficiency in or solid knowledge of DB2, IMS, and CICS
Knowledge of TSO, MVS, VSAM, and REXX
Experience in production operations and incident analysis
Experience integrating and deploying application changes into production
Knowledge of Endevor is a plus
Knowledge of DL/I, SYSIN, MAPS, MFS, and PSB components is an advantage
Rigor, methodical approach, analytical skills, autonomy, service orientation, and the ability to communicate with a range of technical stakeholders
