About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather requirements, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain existing and future in-house corporate, IT, engineering, and transmission operations software
  • Adhere to software project lifecycles using approved development and project management methodologies with mentoring
  • Create design and user documentation with mentoring
  • Proactively monitor system stability and performance to address issues
  • Participate in the team rotation of 24/7 support to troubleshoot and resolve critical software application issues as required
  • Provide status updates, input and alternatives for business processes, security considerations, and infrastructure impacts of assignments with mentoring
  • Contribute to improving departmental standards, processes, and procedures
  • Create workflows and wireframe mockups, SQL databases, code implementations, work with users in User Acceptance Testing, create user manuals, and support deployment with mentoring
  • Develop applications supporting IT, engineering, field, and transmission operations functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems; or 2 years of professional software development experience, including experience in the targeted environment, languages, and databases, or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education
  • Electric transmission knowledge a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective technical solutions
  • Ability to design, develop, test, and maintain application components, user interfaces, database objects, reports, and integrations based on functional and technical requirements with detailed supervision
  • Ability to work with guidance and mentorship from more experienced team members
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and deliver quality results in a timely manner with detailed supervision
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
  • ITC does not sponsor employment visas such as H-1B or TN visas
  • Windows 11 or higher experience
  • SQL Server 2022 or higher experience preferred
  • Visual Studio experience preferred
  • Azure DevOps experience preferred
  • Progress Telerik DevCraft Kendo UI experience preferred
  • SyncFusion experience preferred
  • SQL, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or JQuery experience preferred
  • Visio experience preferred
  • Desktop Support, Server Admin, Network Admin, and Cybersecurity experience preferred
