About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage security design consulting engagements to professional standards, independently and in support of senior colleagues and the Director.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for electronic and physical security systems.
- Manage security design and installation projects from conception to completion.
- Maintain client and company deliverables, quality, budgets, and programmes.
- Develop and build new and existing client relationships and facilitate additional Control Risks services.
- Support the Director with team leadership and regional business development.
- Undertake consultancy including risk assessment, security strategy definition, high-level planning, master planning, technical design, performance specifications, and design guidance notes.
- Conduct technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections, and approvals at client sites and in the office.
- Design physical and electronic security systems with specialist engineers and project design teams.
- Create proposals and project budgets to define scope and pricing.
- Maintain financial forecasting, project planning, resource planning, and financial reporting.
- Plan and manage engagements, including quality oversight and compliance with Control Risks policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Contribute to performance management of team members.
- Develop innovative practices and solutions, act as a thought leader, and coordinate with peers across the business.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge and understanding of CPTED principles, Secured by Design, and recognised safety and security planning guidance.
- Understanding and experience delivering physical and electronic security design consulting across RIBA Plan of Work stages.
- Proven ability to operate successfully at a senior level, implement policy, drive quality, and grow a business.
- Proven experience delivering consultancy-based engagements.
- Proven experience of people management.
- Proven experience of successful budgeting, project management, and project closure.
- Membership of a security or design engineering-related institute.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, including participation in speaking engagements.
- Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships.
- Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information.
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in risk management, design, or related security, crisis and/or business continuity fields.
- Security-related professional certification.
- Knowledge of and experience using design-related software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and MS Project.
