About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Edit proposals, reports and other complex documents for grammar, clarity and style.
- Ensure documents are understandable to educated, non-specialist readers without compromising technical writing integrity.
- Revise documents produced by non-native English speakers and British English writers into clear, polished, professional American English.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with consultants producing reviewed documents.
- Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines while working within budget constraints when necessary.
- Develop technical expertise to correct formatting of complex documents.
- Use Control Risks’ formatting and template tools to improve document visual quality, consistency and presentation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Native-level fluency in English, with excellent skills in editing and analytical writing; this is a firm requirement.
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with consultants from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Tremendous attention to detail in language and formatting/presentation.
- Mastery of MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Prior editing experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience editing technical or business writing, particularly in professional services, is ideal.
- Interest in international business, risk management, security, geopolitical developments and related areas.
- Interest in developing or working with AI tools to complement human editing.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish or Portuguese.
- Ability to enhance document visual presentation using graphic and information design principles.
- CVs must be submitted in English.
