About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide financial and payroll support to High Risk Managed Services
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of HRMS department income
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Report realisation and project profitability for HRMS projects
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate financial data and insights
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies
  • Assist tax, commercial finance, and operational teams with accounting and reporting matters
  • Advise the business on financial issues, including FX and tax
  • Review monthly expatriate payroll and verify calculations, bookings, and HR data
  • Verify supporting documents for joiners, leavers, and contract amendments
  • Apply knowledge of DIFC Employment Law and Iraq personal tax calculations
  • Resolve payroll queries and issues
  • Provide ad hoc financial support to the HRMS department and Executive Committee
  • Assist with new legal entity and business expansion setup and reporting
  • Assist with local statutory, group reporting, and internal and external audits
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate tasks, and enhance financial controls
  • Assist the Financial Controller and Regional Finance Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience of management accounting
  • Experience in an analytical accounting role
  • Experience of preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Experienced user of MS Excel
  • Candidates must have reached part qualified status in a recognised accounting qualification
  • Preferred: Experience of providing financial support in a consulting business
  • Preferred: Experience of providing commercial support, including pricing
  • Preferred: Experience of audit
  • Preferred: Experience of working in a global business
  • Preferred: Experience of statutory accounting
  • Ability to take initiative, resolve issues proactively, and recognise when escalation is required
  • Ability to adapt knowledge and analysis to provide effective solutions to clients
  • Ability to make informed decisions and sound judgements
