About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and modernize CHG’s technology stack across client-facing digital experiences and internal business systems
  • Own features across front end, back end, APIs, business logic, and data layers from ideation through production and continuous improvement
  • Design system integrations across brands, applications, Salesforce, NetSuite, and other enterprise tools
  • Handle client, employee, and financial data with security, privacy, and compliance in mind
  • Break ambiguous requirements into clear technical plans and reviewable work units for humans and AI agents
  • Use AI agents for research, prototyping, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation
  • Contribute to architecture, technology choices, and scalable development patterns
  • Establish and refine AI development practices, tools, and workflows
  • Improve codebase quality through tests, monitoring, documentation, and scalable architecture patterns
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering to clarify requirements and explain trade-offs
  • Participate in code review, pairing, onboarding, and mentorship

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of experience engineering production software for Senior level, or 9+ years with cross-system architecture ownership for Staff level
  • Experience with relational data, including SQL, schema design, transactions, and migrations
  • Comfort with modern data platforms, warehouses, pipelines, and data integration
  • Experience with testing, accessibility, input validation, authentication and authorization, and common web security risks
  • Experience using AI agents for real multi-step work
  • Ability to write clear specifications, scope tasks, provide context to AI agents, and verify their output
  • Product engineering mindset focused on problem definition and maintainable solutions
  • Ability to make thoughtful technical judgments and explain decisions, risks, and trade-offs
  • Experience contributing to technical planning, code review, pairing, and mentoring
  • Experience leading technical work beyond individual tickets, including project scoping and guiding engineers
  • Staff level requires architecture ownership across multiple systems
  • Curiosity about fast-changing tools and practices
  • Bonus: LLM-backed feature shipped to production
  • Bonus: Experience extending AI development environments with MCP servers, repository instructions, reusable skills, custom workflows, or automated code review
  • Bonus: Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or HRIS platforms
