About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the strategy and direction of the sensing product portfolio
- Set, communicate, and take accountability for portfolio OKRs
- Align strategy with technical, commercial, operations, and financial stakeholders
- Own the portfolio P&L, revenue, margin performance, and costs
- Set and execute the product roadmap
- Translate strategy into clear product initiatives with the tech lead and engineering team
- Lead evolution of existing hardware and software products
- Drive 0-to-1 product development
- Own hardware/software delivery with internal teams and third-party partners
- Form and manage third-party R&D partner relationships
- Define and improve partner working models, specifications, quality testing, timelines, and commercial terms
- Collaborate with Operations on supply chain, production partners, product introductions, costs, and margins
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of hardware and software engineers
- Provide direction and context in a matrixed structure
- Work across firmware, electronics, cloud software, and UX disciplines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience leading combination hardware/software products end-to-end, from concept through commercial launch and in-market scaling
- Experience managing delivery of hardware products with third-party partners
- Track record of getting the most out of outsourced manufacturing or development partners
- Technical familiarity with embedded systems, sensor hardware, IoT products, or other integrated hardware/software solutions
- Strong product instincts, synthesising customer insight, commercial context, and technical constraints into clear decisions and a coherent roadmap
- Experience leading or closely directing multidisciplinary engineering teams spanning hardware and software
- Comfortable operating across the full product lifecycle, including 0-to-1 development and scaling/evolution of established products
- Clear, confident communication across technical, commercial, and leadership contexts
