About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and maintain Convex’s platforms, dashboard UI, integrations, and other services
- Work directly with customers and company leadership to shape feature plans
- Design and build UIs for Convex Backend Components
- Enhance Convex’s dashboard, CLI, and MCP for AI agents
- Upgrade Convex’s role-based access control system to support access tokens and finer-grained integration permissions
- Collaborate in person with the engineering team in San Francisco
- Occasionally participate in on-call support and respond to production issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong UX sensibilities and enthusiasm for building intuitive interfaces
- Ability to conceptualize customers’ needs and understand differing business requirements
- Experience or enthusiasm for scaling in a high-growth startup environment
- Interest in working in-person at Convex’s office in San Francisco
- Ability to write high-quality code across stack layers
- Product sensibility to determine why and what to build, not only how
- Appreciation for excellence, deep thinking, craft, simplicity, pragmatism, constructive positivity, and tenacity
- Willingness to be on-call when required
- Ability to respond to occasional nighttime pages and debug complex issues
