About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and User Research as an analytical partner.
- Study customer discovery of chefs, meals, cuisines, dietary options, and price points; analyze assortment, variety, personalization, and ordering behavior.
- Map the funnel from acquisition through first order, repeat orders, and long-term retention; identify friction and segment customers.
- Define and evaluate hypotheses, metrics, guardrails, sample sizes, and holdouts for product changes and interventions.
- Analyze heterogeneous effects and uncertainty; recommend whether to launch, iterate, or stop.
- Use appropriate observational methods when randomized testing is impractical and explain limitations.
- Evaluate product changes across order rate, churn, revenue per customer, discounts, chef engagement, and unit economics.
- Analyze friction in subscriptions, delivery information, account management, and support journeys.
- Define and document product metrics, cohorts, event tracking, and dashboards; validate instrumentation and behavioral data.
- Create dashboards for product teams to explore results, identify patterns, and monitor post-launch outcomes.
- Prioritize consequential unknowns, design analyses and tests, communicate learnings, and review work with other analysts.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Approximately 5–7 years in product analytics or a closely related analytical role, with ownership of complex analyses and influence on product decisions; equivalent experience and evidence of impact are welcome.
- Practical fluency with AI tools for analysis, coding, research synthesis, documentation, and repeatable workflows; ability to verify outputs and handle company and customer data responsibly.
- Strong SQL and experience analyzing large, complex behavioral datasets; ability to validate data and write clear, reusable analyses.
- Practical command of product metrics, funnel and cohort analysis, segmentation, and marketplace or subscription dynamics.
- Experience designing and interpreting A/B tests, including holdouts, guardrails, uncertainty, and tradeoffs; sound judgment about causal claims.
- Ability to turn ambiguous product problems into focused learning plans, work independently, and communicate actionable recommendations.
- Clear data storytelling and constructive partnership with Product, Design, Engineering, User Research, and business teams.
- Ability to build powerful, intuitive dashboards in any tool that answer important product questions and enable trustworthy self-service analysis.
- Ability to evaluate AI-enabled product experiences through success metrics, experiments, user feedback, and quality and safety checks.
- Curiosity about food, chefs, customer behavior, and operating constraints of a local marketplace.
