About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute strategic plans for customers and/or products to achieve profitable growth
  • Prepare and lead new business strategies and cross-functional teams to achieve customer business awards
  • Build and maintain customer contacts to identify new programs and product opportunities
  • Monitor competitor activity and relevant market trends
  • Conduct outreach to prospective customers and follow up on leads
  • Partner with internal teams to evaluate potential new business feasibility and profitability
  • Manage customer business plans or productivity programs internally and externally
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Cost Estimating to submit competitive, accurate, and timely quotes
  • Maintain part pricing matrix, close financial/economic issues, and coordinate part transfers
  • Track raw material pricing and other economic agreements
  • Lead and develop cross-functional customer relationships
  • Develop internal relationships across Sales, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Cost Estimating
  • Develop and lead customer price negotiations
  • Support and mentor Sales Analysts
  • Use Windchill, enterProj, Ebiz, SAP, TeamCenter, and SharePoint
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or engineering required
  • Five years or more of experience working with a wide range of Industrial customers
  • Demonstrated ability to be autonomous in new business pursuit and customer management
  • Understanding of OEM manufacturing and assembly environments
  • Technical knowledge to discuss product capabilities
  • Ability to articulate complex ideas and communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to make decisions on customer requests affecting long-term profitability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional negotiating abilities
  • Project management skills are desired
  • Excellent ability to prioritize, multitask and organize
  • Ability to articulate complex business case proposals to internal and external management
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary
  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
  • Proper training on equipment hazards and injury avoidance
