About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work alongside seasoned Estimators and Project Managers to learn how damage assessment projects are measured, documented, and presented
- Visit project sites to gather measurements, photos, and project details
- Collaborate with local office team members to prepare cost estimates
- Assist with site visits and collect measurements, photos, and project details
- Support analysis of labor, materials, and timelines for project estimates
- Track costs and flag differences between projected and actual figures
- Prepare professional reports and data entries in estimating tools
- Gain exposure to Xactimate and Bluebeam Revu
- Participate in custom training modules, an Expert Speaker series, a Capstone presentation, and a Team Leader review
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the AEC field, such as civil engineering or construction management
- Strong career interest in construction consulting, estimating, and project management
- Comfortable working full time in both office and field environments
- Willingness to travel locally and work within or atop damaged buildings, including roofs
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel
- Ability to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, including a ladder
- Ability to climb ladders upwards of 30 feet
- Close visual acuity, with or without correction
- Ability to view a computer terminal, use a keyboard, read printed documents, make detailed visual inspections, perceive color, perceive depth, and maintain a sufficient field of vision
