About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safely manufacture pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs within a Corden Pharma Colorado Manufacturing Center of Excellence
- Perform unit operations on raw materials and intermediates according to written manufacturing procedures and SOPs
- Operate manufacturing process equipment and handle materials
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and maintain a high level of housekeeping
- Establish effective working relationships with Manufacturing, Maintenance & Facilities, R&D, internal support, regulatory groups, and customers
- Work with crew members, supervision, and support groups to achieve manufacturing goals safely
- Develop understanding of plant equipment, infrastructure systems, and chemical processing principles
- Follow written procedures and accurately document operations according to cGMP and SOPs
- Double-check the work of other operators
- Set up and perform operations properly and efficiently using computer systems such as DCS and LIMS
- Receive Emergency Brigade training and participate as a hazmat technical, firefighter, and first aid responder, including EMT and/or full emergency brigade member
- Complete First Aid/CPR training and respond to plant upsets or emergency situations
- Detect and respond to potential hazards and emergency situations
- Attend GMP training and maintain understanding of GMP, SOPs, and the Chemical Operator Training Program
- Follow housekeeping and safety practices and participate in safety programs
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation and accumulation and monitor plant environmental systems
- Train subordinate/peer employees within the work environment
- Read and comprehend safety rules, maintenance instructions, shop-tool instructions, and mechanical drawing/layout procedures
- Participate in structural demolition of buildings and equipment, including dismantling and salvage, as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 3 months related experience and/or training
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to contribute to meetings and work effectively with others
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations and compute rate, ratio, percentage, and metric measurements
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding and troubleshoot processes based on available data and process performance
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, nights or days, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of chemical processing
- Ability to learn and retain technical concepts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong computer, math, reading, and comprehension skills
- Dependable and reliable work ethic; willing to accept increased responsibility
- Ability to learn and demonstrate safety and regulatory compliance practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to troubleshoot

- Detailed knowledge of plant equipment and infrastructure systems
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with construction and demolition equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Forklift certification is a plus, not mandatory
- Regularly climb stairs or ladders; stand, walk, work with hands, climb or balance, talk or hear, and taste or smell
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Able to perform physical labor for construction/demolition projects, including awkward and repetitive manual tasks requiring forceful exertion
- Required to wear basic PPE and full PPE as necessary
