About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical discovery workshops to assess client requirements, constraints, dependencies, risks, and target outcomes
- Develop high-level and detailed Azure solution designs, implementation plans, architecture diagrams, bills of materials, and technical decisions
- Design Azure landing zones and platform foundations aligned with CAF enterprise-scale principles
- Provide design guidance across Azure IaaS, PaaS, containers, data, identity, networking, security, resiliency, and business continuity services
- Present solution options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to technical and executive client stakeholders
- Build and configure Azure environments, including subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, private connectivity, compute, storage, AKS, App Services, databases, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities
- Implement secure hybrid connectivity using VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, Private Link, DNS, NSGs, and routing controls
- Configure Microsoft Entra ID integration, managed identities, RBAC, privileged access, Conditional Access dependencies, and workload identity patterns
- Implement Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, logging, monitoring, alerting, tagging, budgets, and governance controls
- Validate solutions through functional, security, performance, failover, and operational-readiness testing
- Design, develop, test, and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep; support ARM templates where required
- Create modular, version-controlled code with environment configuration, state management, secrets handling, policy checks, documentation, and automated testing
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
- Automate Azure deployments and operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, REST APIs, and scripting
- Establish source-control, branching, pull-request, release, and code-review practices
- Assess and migrate workloads from on-premises data centers and other cloud platforms to Azure
- Plan and execute discovery, dependency mapping, readiness assessment, migration-wave planning, landing-zone readiness, cutover, validation, and stabilization activities
- Recommend rehost, replatform, refactor, replace, retain, or retire strategies
- Design rollback, coexistence, data-protection, business-continuity, and disaster-recovery approaches
- Own assigned technical workstreams, estimates, delivery milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and status updates
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to deliver agreed scope, quality, schedule, and acceptance criteria
- Produce client deliverables including as-built documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration records, code repositories, pipeline documentation, test evidence, and operational runbooks
- Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and provide a structured transition to client operations or managed services teams
- Support presales discovery, solution validation, effort estimation, and statements of work when requested
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, supportability, cost-management, and operational-readiness expectations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of hands-on Azure infrastructure, cloud engineering, or cloud consulting experience
- 3+ years designing and delivering Azure projects in a professional services, consulting, systems integration, or project-based client environment
- Demonstrated experience designing and building Azure landing zones and workloads using Infrastructure as Code
- Demonstrated experience creating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
- Hands-on experience migrating workloads from on-premises environments and/or another public cloud to Azure
- Experience leading technical client workshops, documenting requirements, presenting designs, and managing delivery commitments
- Experience delivering production Azure environments with security, governance, monitoring, resiliency, and operational handoff built into the solution
