About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage client life-cycle deliverables with oversight from the Benefit Consultant and Team Lead to support retention of a book of business
  • Work on increasingly complex client-related deliverables
  • Complete training and professional development in strategic account planning, communication, and project management
  • Identify an area of focus or subject-matter expertise
  • Maintain current client files and internal systems according to company protocols
  • Execute onboarding, ongoing support, and renewal service deliverables across all coverage lines and products
  • Support development of client goals, objectives, and multi-year strategic plans
  • Define annual service delivery calendars
  • Prepare client deliverables using team expertise, tools, and established standards
  • Communicate and present findings, analysis, and recommendations in meetings, calls, and emails
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and client projects
  • Develop and maintain client and vendor relationships
  • Review employee education and communication materials during periods such as open enrollment
  • Research, respond to, and resolve client inquiries and service issues
  • Maintain BenefitPoint, Oracle, and client files according to data standards
  • Manage client stakeholder contact information for satisfaction and thought leadership purposes
  • Create and manage internal account plans with the Team Lead and Producer
  • Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of clients and the team
  • Identify and leverage resources for upsell opportunities
  • Reconcile client revenue monthly between BenefitPoint and Finance Accrued Revenue
  • Develop new and creative benefit solutions with guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–3 years of experience working with a health and welfare carrier, broker, employee benefits administrator, or in an HR/benefits role
  • State-specific resident Life & Health License is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and responsiveness
  • Ability to model financial implications from benefit programs
  • Comfortable negotiating with insurance carriers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to identify problems and create effective solutions
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, meet deadlines, and delegate when necessary
  • Ability to establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
  • Basic understanding of general business and financial concepts
  • Ability to create, organize, and manage a project plan
  • Basic understanding of strategy and long-term planning
