About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with the UX/UI Lead to understand user problems and design intent
  • Contribute ideas, explore alternatives, discuss trade-offs, and suggest usability improvements
  • Translate Figma designs into high-quality React interfaces
  • Implement responsive layouts, typography, spacing, transitions, and interaction details
  • Identify and resolve loading, empty, error, validation, focus, and disabled states
  • Refine full-stack developers’ initial frontend implementations into production-ready experiences
  • Improve component structure, state handling, usability, and consistency
  • Build and maintain shared component libraries and frontend conventions
  • Document reusable patterns and help the engineering team adopt them
  • Identify and address slow loading, unnecessary rendering, and unresponsive interactions
  • Write maintainable, tested code
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Build accessibility and cross-browser reliability into implementations
  • Contribute to polished, cohesive, fast, and responsive application experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong React and TypeScript skills
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript, semantic HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks and tooling
  • Ability to build and maintain substantial applications
  • Strong visual and interaction judgement
  • Experience interpreting Figma designs
  • Experience working closely with designers
  • Experience with reusable components, application state, API integration, responsive design, accessibility, testing, and performance optimisation
  • Experience improving existing code without unnecessary complexity
  • Proactive and collaborative approach
  • Experience refining another developer’s implementation
  • Experience with design systems, Storybook or similar component documentation tools, complex forms, workflow-heavy applications, or AI-powered interfaces would be useful
