About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain microservices for document ingestion and integrations
Maintain and enhance Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines connecting enterprise knowledge sources with Large Language Models (LLMs)
Prototype and experiment with new AI techniques
Build and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using serverless compute, event queues, managed containers, and NoSQL/relational storage
Optimise code and system architecture for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions
Develop and maintain APIs powering document ingestion and integrations for CORTO's Core AI platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on software engineering experience building RESTful APIs and production-grade software
Strong foundation in at least one modern backend programming language, such as C#, Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
Willingness to learn new technologies as required by the business
Solid understanding of software architecture, event-driven designs, and microservices
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MS SQL
Experience with NoSQL or key-value stores such as DynamoDB or Redis
Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with or interest in AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot
Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of product areas
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to chase leads to resolve dependencies
Ability to think outside the box
Team-player mindset
