About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support implementation of Digital Engineering for the M60 Simister Island project
  • Work through Construction and Handover stages
  • Support ongoing Digital Engineering activities within the broader highways sector
  • Represent the business culture and ethos on Digital Engineering and capture and share best practice
  • Investigate new ways of working and software to improve and streamline Digital Engineering processes
  • Support development of 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for permanent and temporary works
  • Develop 3D models for setting out and machine control
  • Develop 3D and 4D models for assessment and visualisation of construction sequencing proposals
  • Provide a technical link between design consultants, project teams, and suppliers
  • Support management and use of the Project Information Model during construction
  • Embed digital processes across project disciplines and support project processes such as public consultations
  • Advise others on digital systems
  • Support handover of project Asset Information in accordance with the National Highways Asset Data Management Manual
  • Support development and handover of as-built drawings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BSc / BEng in Construction / Civil Engineering Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or allied subject or equivalent vocational training
  • Previous engineering-based experience and understanding of construction processes
  • Interest and knowledge in Digital Engineering
  • Understanding and experience of Autodesk and/or Bentley Systems products
  • User of at least one digital design platform: AutoCAD & Civil3D, Revit, Synchro 4D Pro, Navisworks Manage, or equivalent software
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Ability to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Desirable: relevant CSCS card
  • Desirable: professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification
  • Desirable: motorway environment construction experience
  • Desirable: proficient user of AutoCAD
