About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver design and associated activities for an assigned section of the SPA programme
- Produce or review specifications, calculations, drawings, and 3D models
- Lead, support, or independently review construction-site and supply-chain design queries and change requests
- Ensure design queries and change requests are addressed promptly, technically soundly, and through applicable change-control processes
- Review and ensure completion of design CDM deliverables
- Collaborate with delivery, procurement, commercial, GI, Utilities, Environmental, and Anglian Water teams
- Provide technical knowledge and evidence-based advice or challenge regarding project and asset requirements
- Develop or review civil design decisions considering affordability, risk, programme, carbon, and whole-life value
- Participate in CDM and commissioning strategy meetings
- Identify innovative technologies and processes
- Lead or support adoption of safe, technically suitable, sustainable offsite, modular, standardised, and repeatable solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Chartered in engineering or equivalent background
- Civil engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Track record in design of a section of the works
- Experience designing elements associated with a Non-Infrastructure site, including drainage and highway design
- Strong technical understanding of civils Non-Infrastructure design, preferably clean water
- Ability to produce or review specifications, calculations, drawings, and 3D models
- Understanding of design CDM deliverables and Construction Design Management requirements
- Understanding of design interactions with delivery, procurement, and commercial teams
- Ability to consider capital cost, operating cost, risk, programme, carbon, and whole-life value
- Ability to provide evidence-based technical advice or challenge to standards and proposed departures
- Ability to work with offsite manufacture, modular construction, standard products, and repeatable solutions
- Driving required
