About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare robust contract programmes linking design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and handover throughout the project lifecycle
  • Display and analyse the project critical path and advise the project team and client on results and corrective actions
  • Produce and maintain project baselines and execute the change control process
  • Update schedules to reflect progress, change events, risks and opportunities
  • Produce fully logic-linked programmes aligned with NEC contract requirements
  • Support the site delivery team with short-term lookahead programmes
  • Produce programmes and documentation in accordance with company practices and procedures
  • Manage several programmes and support Planning Engineers/Junior Planning Engineers, including supervision and work checking
  • Support project controls implementation, including earned value analysis, reporting dashboards and performance metrics
  • Monitor site delivery programmes and update contractual submissions to Northumbrian Water across live sites in County Durham

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in project planning within civil engineering, utilities or major infrastructure
  • Construction / engineering experience
  • Understanding of NEC contract mechanisms and programme requirements
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced, fun and dynamic environment
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceeding expectations
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond rapidly to unexpected events
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including presenting complex interdependencies clearly
  • Relevant engineering or project management qualification
  • CSCS
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Water industry experience (desirable)
  • Enterprise working experience (desirable)
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (desirable)
