About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide visible and effective leadership and resource planning to lead the planning team and work with the project/programme manager to deliver business case benefits and outcomes
Oversee interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project/Programme Plan
Develop clear vision and standards and champion best-practice project planning standards, tools and processes
Build strong internal and external networks
Work with the senior management team to ensure the programme accurately reflects the state of the project/programme and current strategy
Review performance data and trends to identify areas for improvement and collaboration, selecting appropriate methods and tools to resolve them

Requirements

What you’ll need

HNC/HND, degree qualified or experience in a planning related discipline
APM Project Management Qualification (desirable)
APMG Managing Successful Programmes – foundation level (desirable)
APMG International Project Planning and Control Practitioner or equivalent (desirable)
PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) (desirable)
Confidence to manage teams and communicate at all levels
Extensive training and experience with Primavera (P6)
Proficiency in interpreting Earned Value Analysis
Experience interpreting estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools
High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills
Excellent MS Office skills
Working knowledge of reporting tools including Power BI (desirable)
Training and experience with planning tools beyond P6 (desirable)
Recent experience forming and developing teams (desirable)
Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment (desirable)
Driving required
Must be based in the United Kingdom
