About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a Project Control Team of Planning to ensure consistency, coherence and adherence to standards
Oversee production and control of baselined, fully logic-linked, cost- and resource-loaded plans with appropriate milestones
Use work breakdown structures and related techniques across project work
Support estimating to ensure a control estimate is available for cost monitoring
Facilitate and maintain project change control and risk management processes
Analyse trends and provide feedback on risks and opportunities
Support managers in producing monthly reports through intelligent information and analysis
Develop Project Control processes and tools for the EDF Energy Generation portfolio
Identify Project Controls shortfalls and implement remedial action plans
Conduct forward resource planning
Participate actively in recruitment, including interviews
Continually improve Project Controls output and value delivered
Work embedded in the client team alongside Costain colleagues, the client and suppliers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous Line Management experience
Results focused with a team-centred approach
Ability to analyse data to recognise emerging trends and suggest remedial action
Proficient in the application of Earned Value concepts and tools
High level of analytical and numerate skills
Experience preparing reports and information using SAP, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to apply analysis skills, take responsibility, make decisions and meet challenges within the limits of own capabilities and responsibilities
Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills working in a team environment
Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment
Civil or other engineering degree, or Project Control-specific qualifications (desirable)
Driving required
Security clearance not required
