About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure projects are completed to quality, schedule, and budget
  • Anticipate risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and issues
  • Manage overall performance, including profit and loss, across specified customer accounts
  • Manage and control risk and change to meet Costain and client objectives
  • Manage stakeholders and projects to deliver direct and indirect benefits
  • Develop effective project delivery organisations and secure qualified and experienced personnel
  • Select, integrate, and assure the required supply chain
  • Lead teams to remove complexity and maximise productivity
  • Provide visible safety leadership
  • Ensure health, safety, environmental impact mitigation, security, and other project requirements are achieved
  • Ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of quality management systems
  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure integration and close supply chain integration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in highly complex, highly regulated environments, ideally Defence / Nuclear
  • Security Clearance would be desirable, but the ability to gain SC is essential
  • Recognised degree or equivalent experience or qualification in a relevant branch of engineering
  • Membership of an internationally recognised professional Institution
  • Ability to interface and interact with management and client representatives at all levels
  • Experience developing strong client and wider stakeholder relationships
  • Robust and practical experience integrating multi-disciplinary and external organisations across the project lifecycle
  • Strong project management expertise in highly regulated industries with complementary leadership and behavioural management
  • Proven experience achieving project goals while maintaining high standards in HSEQ
  • Experience using data and technology to drive project success
  • Conversant with estimating approaches and competent in cost/schedule budget management processes
  • Conversant with HR practices/processes
  • Proven track record of building teams with different backgrounds and valuing diverse thinking
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Driving required
