Develop and support analytics systems with patent-pending technology and applications for in-house audit partners
Design and implement new solutions
Learn new technologies and apply them to the problem space
Peer review software changes by other developers
Provide technical guidance to the team on development
Document application specifications, design, features, and operation before production rollout
Collaborate with business partners to define and ensure complete and accurate system and technical requirements
Collaborate with developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders
Complete responsibilities outlined in annual performance reviews and/or goal setting
Complete special projects and other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
0-1 year of professional Java development experience
Strong grasp of core Java and object-oriented programming, including classes, interfaces, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and exception handling
Familiarity with Java Collections Framework, generics, streams, and lambdas
Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms
Experience with Maven or Gradle and IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse
Proficiency with Git and basic branching and pull request workflows
Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including simple queries, joins, and CRUD operations
Ability to read, debug, and explain existing code
Basic awareness of secure coding practices, including input validation, parameterized queries, and avoiding hard-coded credentials
Ability to use AI coding assistants such as Claude or GitHub Copilot for development, debugging, and documentation
Ability to review, test, understand, and explain AI-generated code before committing it
Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to execute project deliverables in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within estimated timelines
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area
Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
Preferred: Experience with Spring or Spring Boot
Preferred: Experience with JUnit and Mockito
Preferred: Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and HTTP fundamentals
Preferred: Exposure to JDBC, JPA, or Hibernate
Preferred: Basic understanding of concurrency and multithreading
Preferred: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud platforms
Preferred: Exposure to Agile and Scrum
Preferred: Basic front-end exposure such as Angular or React
Preferred: Experience writing prompts and using AI to generate unit tests, boilerplate, or documentation and validating results
Preferred: Understanding of AI limitations, including hallucinated APIs, outdated syntax, and insecure suggestions
Preferred: Exposure to agentic or CLI-based coding tools
