About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, implement, analyze, and maintain business systems impacting the general ledger
- Complete journal entries and account reconciliations related to business system processes
- Establish and maintain accounting policies and controls within the general ledger
- Represent the department on projects impacting the ledger, including requirements, report building, testing, and implementation
- Review or complete account reconciliations, interface balancing, and journal entry processing accurately and timely
- Update and maintain close schedules to keep Controllers on track for financial reporting deadlines
- Analyze processes, systems, and inquiries from internal and external departments and provide feedback or recommendations
- Evaluate operating efficiencies of accounting systems, procedures, and workflow and implement improvements
- Serve as the accounting department liaison to Technology regarding business systems
- Train staff on financial transactions occurring within business systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training
- Experience related to financial systems, general ledger, accounting operations, or related processes
- Ability to complete journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ability to analyze business systems and accounting processes
- Ability to develop requirements, build reports, assist with testing, and support implementation
- Ability to evaluate systems, procedures, and workflow efficiencies
- Ability to train staff on financial transactions within business systems
