About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join the Property and Casualty Claims Insurance Application Development team
- Work closely with enterprise and solution architects, technology development teams, business units, and software vendors
- Develop new functionality in the Guidewire ClaimCenter system supporting claims reporting and handling for multiple lines of business
- Support claims components already in production
- Provide technical oversight and strategic direction to teams of business partners, internal and contracted technology members, and vendors
- Serve as technical expert on development projects
- Build architectural roadmaps and ensure successful delivery of system functions
- Work with senior leadership to clear blockers and share team successes
- Participate in the full development life cycle, including requirements analysis and design
- Write technical specifications based on conceptual designs and business requirements
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
- Design solutions after gathering business and technical requirements
- Develop high-performing software solutions meeting technical standards
- Support testing and problem-solving/debugging
- Implement software solutions following best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires 14+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training
- Strong organization, written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Property/Casualty insurance Claims workflows
- Expert level knowledge of Guidewire’s ClaimCenter, including configuration and integration capabilities, cloud implementations
- Demonstrated forward thinking skills and ability to recommend improvement ideas
- Demonstrated experience with developing and driving strategic Claims systems architectural direction
- Proven experience working on technical requirements to design solutions
- Demonstrated experience providing guidance on data model changes and code quality, including support of teams in code reviews
- Proven ability to work with support teams resolving complex issues related to performance
- Experience creating process diagrams for business solutions and presenting to leadership or business audiences
- Ability to do impact analysis of a change to a supported system and other impacted systems
- Ability to perform under pressure, multitask, prioritize, and show appropriate sense of urgency
- Proven ability to work within an Agile development life cycle, including understanding interactions between engineers, analysts, and testers
- Experience working on large strategic, multi-phase projects involving multiple teams
- Experience using Rally
- Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, BitBucket and GitLab
