  • Communicate with vehicle owners to promptly schedule physical inspections of damaged vehicles
  • Complete physical inspections of damaged property when necessary
  • Evaluate vehicle damages and prepare written estimates in accordance with applicable policy coverage
  • Audit and review body shop and independent appraiser estimates, supplements, and subrogation documentation relative to claims guidelines and procedures
  • Communicate obtained information to involved parties
  • Negotiate and settle claims within prescribed authority
  • Maintain professional working relationships with body shops, vendors, and internal customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training
  • Ability to inspect damaged vehicles and prepare itemized damage appraisals
  • Knowledge of vehicle parts, materials, labor costs, and restoration requirements
  • Ability to determine whether vehicle damage constitutes a total loss
  • Ability to evaluate damages and prepare written estimates in accordance with applicable policy coverage
  • Ability to audit and review body shop and independent appraiser estimates, supplements, and subrogation documentation
  • Ability to negotiate and settle claims within prescribed authority
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with body shops, vendors, and internal customers
