About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a first responder and member of a dedicated catastrophe claims team.
  • Investigate and settle personal and commercial lines property claims in the field.
  • Maintain on-call availability and deploy at any time, potentially for an extended period.
  • Travel extensively to areas where COUNTRY Financial conducts business.
  • Work 10 straight twelve-hour days followed by 4 days off when assigned to CAT duty.
  • Deploy to claims offices throughout the country to assist with claims office workload.
  • Assist with workload at an assigned claims office when not deployed to CAT duty.
  • Respond to deployment directives and travel to catastrophe areas and areas with claims assistance needs.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle property claims.
  • Investigate claims, complete physical property inspections, evaluate damages, and prepare written estimates according to policy provisions.
  • Initiate first contact with insureds and relevant parties, gather information, obtain recorded statements, and explain the claims process.
  • Perform up to 90% field work and 10% office work within the Minneapolis, Minnesota territory and surrounding areas.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive an automobile.
  • Part 107 drone license required for roof inspections; license must be obtained within 5 months of start date and the exam must be passed within 3 attempts.
  • Must have the physical dexterity to walk, reach, climb, and crawl to inspect damage, sometimes in unfavorable working conditions or inclement weather.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders weighing up to 80 pounds may be required.
  • Must have the ability to climb and access two-plus story structures.
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate.
