About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a small central AI Ops team while remaining hands-on
  • Set priorities for AI work across departments that do not report to AI Ops
  • Join teams for days or weeks to build agents, skills, automations, and workflows, then hand them back
  • Own the company-wide view of AI spending, returns, safety, and reusable work
  • Establish the first comprehensive picture of AI spend, production systems, dependencies, and returns
  • Deliver live AI initiatives in at least three departments that departments can operate independently
  • Make existing AI work discoverable and reusable
  • Define governance with Engineering, Security, and Legal, including guardrails, reviews, and permitted team activity
  • Measure workflow improvements, return on AI spend, reuse, ownership coverage, and response time to department requests
  • Collaborate with AI Product, Engineering, DevX, Legal, Security, and department leaders
  • Report evidence-based AI investment and impact information to management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Evidence of leading AI or automation adoption across a whole company, beyond one team
  • Ability to build with AI tools yourself, including agents, skills, prompts, and orchestration platforms
  • Experience owning a budget or investment case and defending it to executives with evidence
  • Experience setting priorities across departments that do not report to you and making them stick
  • Knowledge of AI governance and risk, including data handling, access, vendor review, and audit trails
  • Ability to establish baselines and measure outcomes with evidence
  • Experience in fast scale-ups and remote-first teams with substantial autonomy
  • English as the main working language
  • Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian is a plus
  • Line management of a small, senior, mixed-discipline team is nice-to-have
  • Background in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, internal tooling, revenue/business operations, or consulting is nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with the EU AI Act in an employment and financial-services context is nice-to-have
  • Experience in fintech or a regulated environment is nice-to-have
