About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, qualify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities and funding in risk management education, patient safety, and accredited medical education
  • Engage healthcare organizations, insurance entities, pharmaceutical companies, and other funders
  • Prospect for leads and engage decision-makers using CRM tools and existing relationships, including Salesforce and LinkedIn Navigator
  • Demonstrate product features and describe RMPS portfolio services through calls, web conferences, and in-person meetings
  • Build and present proposals and grant submissions
  • Partner with internal teams to develop educational program concepts aligned with client and funder priorities
  • Manage the sales and award lifecycle from first contact through contract negotiation and closure
  • Conduct financial negotiations and compliance checks
  • Forecast, report, and track pipeline activity, revenue, and grant prospects
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and meetings to generate leads and strengthen client relationships
  • Ensure compliance with ACCME, PhRMA, FDA, and organizational policies
  • Participate in educational strategy planning and identify professional practice gaps in medical literature
  • Contribute to educational platform design and provide content for grant submissions, letters of intent, and information requests
  • Write educational needs assessments and manage freelance writers as needed
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred; advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate in a medical or scientific discipline) required for clinical strategy
  • Minimum five years of B2B sales, grant development, or business development experience
  • For medical education: business development experience in medical education, healthcare, or pharmaceutical/medical device industry
  • For clinical strategy: 3 to 5 years of experience in medical writing, clinical content development, CME/CE program strategy, or related healthcare fields
  • Knowledge of the healthcare risk management marketplace, medical malpractice insurance marketplace, and sophisticated broker relationships is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and secure program funding or grants
  • Understanding of sales cycles, account management, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce
  • Proficiency in persuasive presentations, product demonstrations, and customized proposals
  • Experience closing large, complex deals/contracts
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication abilities
  • Ability to work remotely without day-to-day in-person supervision
  • Strategic, solutions-oriented mindset
