Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute technical operations for live newscasts, syndicated talk shows, breaking news, and severe weather events
  • Monitor multiple sources for breaking news, traffic problems, and weather alerts
  • Implement the Emergency Alert System
  • Assist anchors with breaking news and edit audio using Adobe Audition
  • Voice on-air traffic reports and anchor news
  • Write and voice three big reports
  • Screen and operate phone calls
  • Clear commercial inventory
  • Voicetrack for music stations
  • Dub and produce production content
  • Produce social media and web content
  • Upload podcasts for local talk shows
  • Work with station on-air talent, on-air clients, and remote-location equipment
  • Execute on-air contests
  • Maintain three radio stations simultaneously
  • Provide engineering support for local and nationally syndicated talk shows
  • Manage on-air breaking news and severe weather situations
  • Report to the Assistant Program Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience running a radio board
  • Expertise in multitasking and familiarity with on-air radio equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues under pressure
  • Ability to run a radio board and confidence on air
  • Reliability

  • Weekend, evening, and on-call availability
