About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the station’s entire computing environment, localized server architecture, high-security network perimeters, and integrated broadcast-IT ecosystems
  • Maintain technical oversight, provisioning, and daily troubleshooting for Avid, iNews, Grass Valley Ignite, Harmonic, Crispin, Chyron, and Wide Orbit systems
  • Administer and optimize local storage and server environments
  • Oversee VMware/Hyper-V virtualized server platforms and NetApp NAS/SAN infrastructure
  • Manage, patch, and monitor Fortinet firewalls, switches, and secure access points
  • Enforce CMG corporate cybersecurity mandates
  • Optimize Microsoft enterprise environments, Active Directory, endpoint systems, and automated script pipelines
  • Manage local help desk workflow and provide high-priority support for control rooms, field news crews, digital production, sales, and administrative teams
  • Formulate, test, and manage business continuity plans, cloud backups, and hardware redundancies
  • Report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with local engineering and CMG corporate technology teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Broadcast Engineering, or equivalent combined professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or I.T. infrastructure management
  • Proven track record working inside a high-pressure, live broadcast television or multi-platform media environment
  • Advanced administration of Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and desktop operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of VMware Horizon/vSphere and NetApp enterprise storage solutions
  • Profound understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN segmentation, routing protocols, and QoS settings for media over IP
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call emergency rotation covering nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Preferred: active Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert certification
  • Preferred: SBE CBNE or CBNT certification
