About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide virtual nursing support for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
- Assist bedside RNs with nursing tasks that do not require in-person care
- Monitor patient vital signs using advanced virtual-care technology
- Complete admission and discharge processes
- Develop and maintain care plans
- Provide patient education, medication teaching, and discharge teaching
- Coordinate patient care
- Mentor new nurses
- Implement evidence-based care
- Conduct real-time quality and patient-safety surveillance
- Collaborate with virtual physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and the Early Intervention Team
- Work in a hybrid cross-training role that includes bedside nursing shifts and virtual nursing shifts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of two years previous nursing experience on inpatient nursing unit
- RN license active in the state of Missouri
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Thrives in rapidly changing environment
- Self-motivated
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
- Exhibits valuable time management skills
- Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Charge nurse or preceptor experience and specialty nursing certification
