About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer leave policies and procedures, including the FMLA, the ADA, the PWFA and state and local leave laws.
- Process leave requests and documentation timely.
- Gather and analyze information to determine employee eligibility for leave.
- Approve or deny leave requests using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgment.
- Communicate with employees and managers regarding leave-related issues.
- Provide training to employees and managers on leave policies and procedures.
- Maintain leave records and reports.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to leave laws and regulations.
- Perform additional duties assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Configure leave administration systems based on client requirements.
- Validate leave plans, absence codes, eligibility rules, workflows, and notifications.
- Perform system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Troubleshoot configuration issues and work with technical teams to resolve defects.
- Ensure accurate data integration and file transmissions between systems.
- Support client implementations through process testing, system validation, and issue resolution, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in leave administration.
- Strong knowledge of the FMLA, the ADA, and state and local leave laws.
- Sound decision making capabilities and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong knowledge and application of Excel.
- Ability to work remotely in the contiguous United States.
