About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee due diligence review, including title, survey, and zoning, for multi-state commercial real estate transactions
- Review title and survey documents for commercial transactions
- Prepare title objection letters, objection responses, and transaction requirement/exception memoranda
- Negotiate title insurance policies for acquisitions and loans
- Order, coordinate, review, and negotiate revisions to surveys
- Order and review zoning reports for apartments and commercial properties
- Prepare Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey deeds and transfer tax forms
- Obtain signatures and follow up on recording, including hard-copy or electronic recording
- Order entity certificates of good standing and certified formation documents
- Order bankruptcy, UCC, litigation, and tax searches
- Handle entity formation and qualification in all states and retrieve EINs from the IRS
- Obtain independent managers/directors for entities when needed
- Prepare closing binders
- Provide title and survey training to new associates
- Cover the New York office for loan work and specific New York transactions
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with team and clients
- Detail oriented and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven computer/technology skills
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- A bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate required
