About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the technical authority for ServiceNow, setting development standards, reviewing code, mentoring teammates, and guiding the platform roadmap, upgrades, and technical debt reduction.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom scoped applications and workflows using App Engine, Flow Designer, and Workflow Studio.
  • Build service catalogs, intake forms, record producers, case management, multi-level approvals, escalations, and notifications.
  • Gather requirements from business users, translate them into technical requirements and designs, run demos and user acceptance testing, and provide estimates and timelines.
  • Build and customize Service Portal pages, widgets, and themes using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and AngularJS, focusing on usability and accessibility.
  • Configure and enhance Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and CMDB processes, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Build and troubleshoot integrations using REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, Integration Hub, import sets, and transform maps.
  • Manage roles, ACLs, application security, audit and compliance support, and enterprise governance standards.
  • Manage releases across instances with implementation and rollback plans, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Develop solutions on Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft .NET/C#, selecting approaches based on business needs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including prior lead or senior developer responsibility.
  • Active ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • Proven experience building custom scoped applications and workflows on App Engine.
  • Strong Service Portal experience, including widgets, client and server scripting.
  • Solid ITSM experience and understanding of ITIL.
  • Advanced JavaScript skills, including GlideRecord, Script Includes, and Business Rules.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
  • Willingness to work across ServiceNow, Power Platform, and .NET, including no-code, low-code, and pro-code development.
  • Experience gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders and producing reliable estimates.
  • Familiarity with source control, Agile practices, and release management.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Active ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and/or Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
  • Preferred: Experience with AngularJS.
