About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage swimming pool, spa, water feature, and aquatic design projects from design through permitting and construction coordination
- Develop and review detailed AutoCAD construction drawings, details, plumbing, hydraulic systems, and related components
- Review and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, landscape, and MEP drawings to identify and resolve design conflicts
- Develop and review plumbing, hydraulic, and equipment layouts for constructibility and system performance
- Review and apply applicable zoning requirements, building codes, pool codes, and construction standards
- Lead client and design coordination meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructibility, code compliance, and consistency with company standards prior to issuance
- Lead and mentor the drafting team while maintaining company CAD and Revit standards, templates, and best practices, with the opportunity to take on additional management responsibilities as the department grows
- Manage project schedules, drafting workloads, priorities, and resource allocation to maintain deadlines and project quality
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong AutoCAD experience with a solid understanding of construction drawing standards
- Direct professional experience designing swimming pools, spas, water features, or related aquatic systems required
- Revit experience preferred
- Strong understanding of concrete construction, reinforcing steel detailing, and construction documentation
- Experience with pool hydraulics, plumbing, equipment layouts, and related aquatic systems
- Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, landscape, and MEP drawings
- Working knowledge of zoning requirements, building codes, pool codes, and permitting requirements
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects with minimal training and supervision
- Strong client communication skills and the ability to lead design and coordination meetings
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review drawings for quality, accuracy, and constructibility
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills with the ability to mentor staff and support the growth of the design team
- Reliable, organized, and accountable with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
