About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and administer test and system environments in the mainframe/z/OS environment
Ensure stable operations and support daily batch processing
Analyze technical incidents in 2nd- and 3rd-level support
Perform root-cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions
Optimize and automate recurring installation and operational processes using scripting
Work with z/OS, JCL, DB2, and other mainframe technologies
Collaborate with internal teams as well as external partners and service providers on technical issues and incidents
Coordinate the resolution process
Serve as an interface between Development, DevOps, Operations, and other IT departments
Continuously improve technical workflows and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years of practical professional experience in a mainframe/host environment
Practical experience with z/OS and JCL
Experience with DB2 and SQL
Experience analyzing and resolving technical incidents, ideally in 2nd-level support
Knowledge of batch processing, TWS, and/or REXX is an advantage
Experience with scripting and automation is an additional plus
Ability to analyze technical problems in a structured manner
Independent and reliable working style
Excellent German skills
Good English skills
