About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct comprehensive Form F (Wales) assessments for prospective foster carers
  • Oversee the assessment process from allocation to Fostering Panel presentation
  • Plan and execute assessment visits with applicants and relevant individuals
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate information from interviews, references, and statutory checks
  • Assess applicants' strengths, vulnerabilities, and capacity to foster
  • Produce detailed, evidence-based Form F reports with recommendations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all assessment activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care
  • Experience conducting complex social work assessments and report writing
  • Prior experience with Form F assessments is highly desirable
  • Experience in fostering services or related specialist teams
  • Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent qualification
  • Current registration with Social Care Wales
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in fostering and children's services
  • Enhanced DBS check required
  • Must live in Powys or within 10 miles of the Powys border
  • Commitment of 10 hours per week
